Youth Enrichment Services

Youth Enrichment Services (YES) offers Boston youth opportunities to experience the outdoors, develop confidence, and build leadership skills through year-round sports-based programs. The organization prioritizes serving low-and-moderate income youth with a focus on young people living in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Jamaica Plain. All youth at YES are Boston residents and we welcome all young people regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic status. Acceptance into YES programs and sliding scale fees are based on need and determined by household income and residency in YES’s focus neighborhoods.

Founded in 1961 as the first indoor non-profit tennis club built by and for the African American community, Sportsmen’s has spent 65 years investing in Boston’s low-income and minority youth and families. We reach over 5,500 youth and 1,250 adults annually with transformative academic, enrichment, health & wellness, and tennis programs. We believe our deep, multifaceted approach is key to supporting and elevating families out of poverty.

All Dorchester Sports and Leadership (ADSL) is a community-focused organization committed to promoting sportsmanship, leadership, and community engagement. Since its establishment in 1983, ADSL has been a beacon of support for the Dorchester community, fostering personal growth and community development.

Harlem Lacrosse

Harlem Lacrosse – Boston launched in the fall of 2016 and uses the sport of lacrosse as the foundation for its year-round enrichment, youth development, and academic support programs. We partner with Boston Public Schools and place a male and female full-time Program Director at each site. Programs operate through all four seasons, culminating in a robust summer curriculum that includes club lacrosse, day camp, and overnight experiences. We currently have 350 boys and girls participating across Mattapan, Dorchester, and East Boston from 5th grade to and through high school graduation.

Founded in 2013, The BASE is an urban academy that uses the power of sports to engage young people and prepare them for life success. Skills training, team competition, and tournament opportunities are provided to youth ages 6-19, in baseball, basketball, and softball. Through high-quality sports programs paired with college, career, and wellness programming, The BASE helps student-athletes develop the skills and mindsets needed to achieve their full potential.

CRI was founded in 1985 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to the belief that the sport of rowing provides unique opportunities to promote personal and community growth through teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness. We are committed to making these opportunities available to all. CRI has become one of the largest rowing programs in the United States, with more than 8,000 people rowing with us annually.

SquashBusters, founded in 1996, is a youth development organization that combines academic support, squash, and character-building to empower young people from under-resourced communities to thrive in school and beyond. Serving students from middle school through post-secondary and into careers, SquashBusters uses long-term relationships and year-round programming to build confidence, discipline, a strong sense of belonging, and the skills needed for lifelong success.
